Savasana is the first sanskrit pose name most of us remember. Savasana is often the least understood and the most challenging of all the yoga asana.
In Iyengar yoga, most instructors lead you into the posture and continue with details throughout the pose to keep your mind engaged. Some are more adept at it than others.
Like pranayama with time and repeated efforts relaxed wake fullness in savasana is maintained and the deeper aspects of the practice can be experienced. Conscious relaxation imprints into every cell of your body and every layer of your being. Many students including myself have had profound and lasting experiences in savasana led by Ramanand. Enjoy this interview with the master savasana teacher himself to learn more.
