Welcome to SHIZEN yoga studio! SHIZEN yoga studio offers classes with different areas of focus at a range of levels that are accessible for men and women of all ages. This page is designed to help you select classes that are suitable for you and includes information on what to prepare.

If you are visiting our studio for the first time

  • Avoid eating large meals within 2 – 3 hours prior to class.
  • Arrive 10 minutes prior to the class to fill out necessary paperwork and to acquaint yourself with our facilities and payment system.
  • For ladies: please inform the instructor if you having your period; some poses should be avoided at this time of the month.
  • Be sure to inform the instructor if you have physical problems or injuries that might affect your practice
  • Turn off your phone, or set it to silent mode.
  • Leave water bottles and personal items in the changing room. Please do not bringing them into the practice space.

“Open class” is our general term for classes that can be attended without reservation. They include various “General Classes” for different levels and purposes. Prenatal and Postnatal yoga classes are offered at special prices.
Different conditions and prices apply for Series Classes and some Special Classes. Please check the details for these classes.

SHIZEN Yoga Studio was opened by Dominica Serigano in 2004 to bring quality yoga to our community and to create a friendly community through yoga.

5 min walk from Kichijoji station
1:At Kichijoji station (JR/Keio Inokashira line), use the Park (South) exit. Turn left onto the narrow one-way street immediately outside the station building.
2:Walk under the Inokashira-line overpass, and cross the intersection where Kirarina is on your left and LABI is across the street in front.
3:Continue past LABI along Suehiro Dori street, and turn left at the lane between Toyota Rent-a-Car and the parking garage (large green structure).
4:Walk down the lane for 100 meters. SHIZEN yoga studio is in the “Entopia Kichijoji” apartment building on the right- hand side. (The building’s porch has distinctive black and white checkered tiling leading to the entrance. The building name is written in Japanese, by the doorway.) Our studio is on the 2nd floor to the left of the staircase.
